How does an ETP differ from an ETF?

Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs) encompass a diverse category of investment instruments.

Within this category, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are a well-known subset. While both ETPs and ETFs operate similarly to traditional ETFs, the key distinction lies in their underlying structure. ETPs, including ETFs, are traded on stock exchanges like individual stocks. However, ETPs extend beyond ETFs to include other securities such as Exchange-Traded Notes (ETNs) and Exchange-Traded Commodities (ETCs). Notably, ETPs are debt securities issued by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), setting them apart from traditional ETFs.
